The (East) End was captured near mid-day at the Sankaty Beach Club in the Spring of 2023. Typically one avoids mid-day as the light is harsh, but I wanted to capture the stillness and uncanny nature of this location, pregnant with anticipation as it clings steadfast against the maw of the ‘Sconset bluff and the open Atlantic Ocean below. The inclusion of the soaring gull was serendipitous but proved to be the perfect counter to the scenes stiff and tightly organized composition.
